The priciest piece of property in Alicante, the “Tower King Jaume 1,” a villa 5 kilometers from the town has just been placed on the market.
Boasting only two bedroom suites the price came as a bit of a surprise to us - €10,500,000 – That is correct, over ten million euros for a two-bedroom villa.
Despite the small number of bedrooms, the villa is huge – over 1,100 square meters built and a 4,200 plot. Also included is a heated pool, private library, private pub, gymnasium and an aviary, along with a guest house, staff quarters and spectacular gardens.
The website advertising the property entertainingly describes the villa as a “peculiar construction,” and the family that built it were of a “high spending power,” which more or less describes the villa accurately. It is certainly an interesting piece of property, despite the large price tag.
As a comparison, we thought it might be interesting to compare this property to other typical properties in the region.
So what does 10.5 million get you ?
420 un-renovated town houses

Europeanproperty have an interesting little townhouse for sale. A restoration property - 3 bedrooms, 0 bathromms, but a snip at €25,000
104 fincas

Thinkspain.com have a nice little finca for sale 40 minutes from Alicante airport. In need of complete refurbishment, but at 4,260 square meters, it’s a little larger than the first property. - Price €100,200 We dread to think of the refurbishment costs though.
30 4 bedroom duplexes

buypropertyspain are selling these 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom duplexes, whicjh include a swimming pool, garden and tennis courts – Price €359,000 . You won’t quite get the whole block though.
33 villas

houses by lawyers, which is an interesting name, but makes sense, we suppose and we hope they mean sold by rather than built by, have some brand new out of the box 3 bedroom villas on the block – swimming pool optional. €312,500, although we suspect you may get a discount of you buy the lot. Assuming they are still planning on building them.
