Yoo, the international design and marketing company, announces this month the completion of its first resort development in Puerto Vallarta Mexico, Icon Vallarta, and the launch of a landmark residential project 30km outside Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Designed by yoo inspired by Starck, the projects are part of yoo’s distinctive architecture and interiors portfolio making a strong impact in the Americas: yoo made headlines in 2004 with the launch of Icon South Beach in Miami, and continued to make news with Downtown by Starck, the redevelopment of the landmark JP Morgan building on Wall Street, New York City, which was 90% sold within 21 days of its launch. Yoo currently has 11 projects in North, Central and South America with a combined value of US$2.5 billion.
Icon Vallarta is an exclusive beachfront development of 336 one, two and three-bedroom apartments in three 26-storey towers, and seven individually-designed ocean-view villas. Yoo’s third collaboration with The Related Group, Icon Vallarta overlooks Bahia de Banderas on the Pacific Ocean, the largest natural bay in Mexico, with private access for residents to over 1,000ft of beachfront. Icon Vallarta also offers a 500ft infinity pool, cool ‘mist’ showers and a communal fire pit, beach bar and grill area; Philippe Starck was awarded Cultural Ambassador of Puerto Vallarta for his designs in Icon Vallarta. Prices start from $199,000 for a one-bedroom and $1,299,000 for a four-bed.
Yoo Nordelta, Buenos Aires, a project by K Group, launched in April and sold 61 units on the first day of launch. The development will feature interior design by yoo, including 550 apartments, private beaches on a lake, a screening room, wine cellar, games room, and yoo FIT fitness centre. Residents will also have membership of an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus golf course. Architecture for yoo Nordelta will be designed by Carlos Ott (Paris Opara Bastille, Shanghai international airport). As well as the yoo inspired by Starck interiors, this project is unique to Buenos Aires as residents will have private beach access. Prices start from US$135,000 for a 1-bedroom apartment and go up to US$450,000 for a three-bed.
John Hitchcox, Chairman and co-founder of yoo, says, “The markets in the Americas continue to be very receptive to the fresh approach to living that yoo brings. Both Puerto Vallarta and Nordelta have mould-breaking architecture and Starck’s signature interiors, and will fill the growing appetite for unique design in Central and South America.”
